Tubod, Lanao del Norte- Just in time for the Christmas season, the provincial government of Lanao del Norte exemplified the spirit of giving as it distributed 24 multipurpose tents to 24 barangays at the Mindanao Civic Center on December 20.

The tents were distributed to provide shelter for vigils, parties and other important events in the barangay as explained by Allan Datusapalao, Provincial Community Affairs Office staff of the provincial government. He added that the aim of the project is to make sure that all barangays of the province will be allocated of these multipurpose tents.

The latest recipients of the multipurpose tents are the barangays in the interior towns of Magsaysay and Nunungan. The municipality of Magsaysay received two tents while the municipality of Nunungan received 22 tents.

Datusapalao also mentioned that this is the first time that all the tents were given to a municipality, an emphasis to the municipality of Nunungan which received all of its tents at once.

The distribution of the tents is in line with Gov. Mohammad Khalid Q. Dimaparo’s “Kabarangayan Sigurado Program” which aims to provide security and sustainable development to barangays in the province.

Association of Barangay Council President of the Municipality of Nunungan, Pangsayan Manamparan expressed his happiness for the “gift” they received, “nalipay kami and para mani sa kabarangayan, gamiton ni namo!” (we are joyful and these are for the barangays, we will definitely use it!).
The event was well attended by the barangay captains and other officials of the recipient barangays. MAC/PIO-LDN
