370 Muslim pilgrims benefit from Lanao Norte Hajj program
Quezon City, Metro Manila – 370 pilgrims from Lanao del Norte availed of the Hajj program implemented by the provincial leadership for Muslims in this fast-rising province in northern Mindanao.
Under the program, Muslims who are set to make the pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia will be assisted in securing their travel documents, and provided with hotel accommodation and transportation requirements from Lanao del Norte to Manila.
“We are happy to see more and more pilgrims availing of the Hajj program every year. The increasing number of our jammah (Hajj delegates) only proves the effectiveness of this program”, Community Affairs Officer Lyndon Calica said.
The latest group of pilgrims arrived in Manila on October 17 for their international flight on October 20, 2010.
The Hajj program is presently being implemented by the Provincial Community Affairs Office (PCAO) and has helped already more than five thousand pilgrims in fulfilling the fifth pillar of Islam since its creation in 1994. VNL/PIO-LDN
