Tubod, Lanao del Norte – 19 mayors attended the 6th Provincial Development Council (PDC) meeting held at the Macapal Training Center on September 28, 2010.

The council meeting was called by Gov. Khalid Dimaporo to update members of the latest developments in the various programs and projects currently implemented in the province.

Among the topics discussed are the approval of the Executive Legislative Agenda for 2011-2013, the 2011 Annual Investment Plan, the utilization of the twenty-percent Development Fund for 2011 and the 2011 PDC Work Program.

“We need to show that national and even foreign-assisted projects are efficiently implemented here in our province so that our national leadership will be convinced to continue implementing these poverty-reduction projects here in Lanao del Norte”, urged Gov. Dimaporo.

Also taken up during the meeting are updates of the major programs implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) like the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), KALAHI-CIDSS.

Baicon Macaraya of the UN-World Food Programme was also on hand to present their programs implemented and upcoming hunger-intervention initiatives until 2011.

For her part, Provincial Planning Head Brigida Tangonan also explained the details of the Mindanao Rural Development Program (MRDP) from the Department of Agriculture.

Other members present during the meeting were Board member Acmad Cotongan, Board member Jose Bonghanoy, Provincial Administrator Joselito Quibranza, and Executive Directors from BIRTHDEV, ECOWEB, LAFCCOD, and PASAKA. VNL/PIO-LDN
