ABS-CBN stars shine in Lanao del Norte concert

Tubod, Lanao del Norte – More than five thousand spectators came to the Mindanao Civic Center (MCC) gymnasium in the capital town of Tubod for a romantic and fun-filled evening as ABS-CBN stars Iya Villania and Marcelito Pomoy held their highly successful pre-valentine concert on February 11, 2012.Villania who is a regular host of ABS-CBN’s morning primetime show – Umagang Kay Ganda provided the upbeat songs for the mammoth crowd, while Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) Season 2 Grand Winner Marcelito Pomoy entertained the audience with his unique rendition of love songs.
Dubbed as “A Grand Night to Remember”, it was Pomoy’s first-ever Valentine concert after winning the 2-million cash prize and the coveted title as PGT Season 2 grand winner last year.
“This is such a beautiful place. I hope those in the major cities can come and visit Lanao del Norte and see for themselves how peaceful this place is”, Pomoy said.
The concert was organized by the provincial government as its main event for the month of February.
Under the leadership of Gov. Khalid Dimaporo, the provincial LGU has been regularly producing quality, wholesome entertainment for its residents and visitors to highlight the peacefulness of the province.
Recently, Lanao del Norte was declared by the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) as its home in Mindanao. Last year, Lanao del Norte was also hailed as the motocross capital of the Philippines after regularly hosting the biggest motocross races in the country.-VNL/PIO-LDN
