Dimaporos win big in Lanao del Norte
Tubod, Lanao del Norte – Incumbent Gov. Khalid Dimaporo, Fatima Aliah Dimaporo and Imelda Quibranza Dimaporo collectively known as Team Dimaporo all won by landslide over their opponents during the last May 10 elections.
Gov. Khalid Dimaporo won over his closest rival Alijandro Batalo who only received less than 10 percent (18,156 votes) of Dimaporo’s total votes (203,672 votes).
“I’m very thankful to the people of Lanao del Norte for giving me this victory. They can be assured that they will see the same hard work and dedication that I have shown in the past”, declared Dimaporo.
Imelda and Aliah Dimaporo who ran for the 1st and 2nd congressional districts respectively also won convincingly over their political rivals.
“As I promise the people, I will be an effective representative of the 1st district of Lanao del Norte. I will work with sincerity, love and fear of God”, Imelda Dimaporo said.
During canvassing, provincial candidates of Lakas-Kampi-CMD all enjoyed comfortable leads over their opponents in the other parties and won all the elected positions in the provincial LGU.
The overwhelming victory of Team Dimaporo in the province is translated by observers as the direct effect of the election maturity of the voters.
“I believe the people are tired of the usual mudslinging politics, we really made an effort to just stick to the issues and platforms of government during the campaign period”, explained Chief Political Officer Lyndon Calica.
The Dimaporos have consistently stood for the unity of Muslims and Christians in the province and made it their battle cry to provide opportunities for them to interact and work together instead of merely isolating the 2 groups. VNL/PIO-LDN
