International riders dominate heats in Lanao del Norte motocross
Tubod, Lanao del Norte – Four international riders from United States and New Zealand dominated the preliminary races in the on-going Lanao del Norte International Motocross Invitationals held at the capitol town Tubod, this province.
An Indonesian rider however was not able to prevail against the top local riders led by multi-awarded racers Glenn Aguilar and Donark Yuson.
The international riders participating in the first-ever international motocross to be held in the country belong to the top 20 racers of the American Motocross Association (AMA).
Among the AMA riders seeing action are Daniel Blair, Tiger Lacey, Ivan Harry, and Dennis Stapleton.
“As far as the track is concern, we were blown away. We’re very impressed”, noted American Daniel Blair.
More than 250 local riders from all over the country also started to arrive at the Mindanao Civic Center since December 10 to participate in the 18 race categories of the 2-day motocross competition.
Opening the competition was a freestyle contest between the international riders and top riders from the cities of Davao and Cebu. This was also the first-ever international freestyle event to be held here in the country.
