Tiger Lacey led his group of foreign riders from the American Motocross Association (AMA) who came to participate in the two-day competition that started on December 11, 2010.

“We love to race here. We were impressed with the racetrack and the intense competition from the Filipino riders”, Lacey expressed.

After a disappointing fall in last year’s final race, motocross icon Glenn Aguilar again came up on top as the 2010 Rider of the year.

Aguilar continued to show his winning form in the all-Filipino Pro-Lites category despite earning enough points prior to the race to bag the Rider of the year award.

Aguilar was the only Filipino to land in the top three position of the International category which saw Americans Tiger Lacey and Daniel Blair grab the first and second spots.

The competition is the first-ever international motocross to be held here in the country.

The provincial government of Lanao del Norte and SEL-J Sports are already in the planning stage for next year’s international motocross event to be held in this fast-rising province in northern Mindanao.

With a series of well-participated racing competitions already under its belt, the province has been acclaimed by riders and race organizers as the motocross capital of the Philippines.

“We want to see Lanao del Norte become the sports mecca of the country”, Governor Khalid Dimaporo declared. VNL/PIO-LDN
