postheadericon Lanao del Norte Governor honored in CEO Excel Awards

Tubod, Lanao del Norte – Last March 23, 2010, Governor Khalid Dimaporo of this province along with 11 other distinguished awardees received the “Communication Excellence in Organizations” or CEO EXCEL Awards in recognition of their skilful use of communication strategies and tools to achieve business, environment or social development goals.

 The coveted award is annually given by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) - Philippines to Chief Executive Officers, Presidents or top-level executives of companies and organizations.

 “I receive this award in behalf of the people of Lanao del Norte whom I’ve served so earnestly for the past 3 years”, said Gov. Dimaporo.

 The other 11 awardees accepting the award this year are the who’s who in their respective field: Charo Santos-Concio (President/ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp.), Regina Lopez (Managing Director/ABS-CBN Foundation), Alfonso Salcedo, Jr. (President/BPI Family Savings Bank), Ambassador Jose Antonio (Chairman/Century Properties, Inc.), Dr. Cynthia Mamon (AVP, Smile Division/Enchanted Kingdom), Rhodora Tumpalan (President, First Vita), Ernest Cu (CEO, Globe Telecom), Carmela Tiangco (EVP, GMA-7 Kapuso Foundation), Guellermo Luchangco (CEO, ICCP Group), Madelaine Yorobe Alfelor Gazmen (Mayor, Iriga City), and Atty. Roberto Laurel (President, Lyceum of the Philippines).

 The Awards are intended to raise public awareness of the importance of effective communication in business management and organizational growth. The awardees are presented as models to their employees and other stakeholders in harnessing communication skills in their work and relationships.

For Governor Dimaporo, his effective use of communication strategies that support his major developmental thrusts embodied in his 3-point agenda (social services, infrastructure and rural livelihood), the province has provided full Philhealth coverage to every resident, with more hospitals accepting indigent patients, the incidence of child and maternal mortality, and of tuberculosis is going down, more people are eating nutritious food at affordable prices, and local and foreign tourists are seeing that Lanao del Norte is indeed a province of “beauty and bounty”.
