postheadericon Lanao del Norte joins Pasundayag 2011

The best of Lanao del Norte. Showcasing the best that this fast-rising province has to offer are tourism officers led by Provincial Tourism Head Minda Regis during the recent Pasundayag event at the SM Mall of Asia.Dubbed as “Northern Mindanao Power 10”, the Pasundayag 2011 is a six-day exposition of Region 10 as a destination for both domestic and foreign tourists, government-private investments, and center for trade.

As a proud member-province of northern Mindanao, Lanao del Norte actively participated in the tourism event by showcasing the rich cultural heritage of its people and the colorful traditions of the royal Maranaos as expressed through their works of art and delectable cuisines.

The exposition which started from April 14 to19, 2011 was held at the Music Hall, SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City, Manila.

Other participating LGUs are the five provinces and eight cities of Region 10 which include the provinces of Bukidnon, Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental; and the cities of Cagayan de Oro, Iligan, Ozamis, Tangub, Oroquieta, Gingoog, Malaybalay and Valencia.

The cultural presentation of Lanao del Norte was highlighted by a performance by world-renowned Kaamulan Dance Troupe of the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT).

Pilipinas Got Talent balladeer Sherwin Baguion who hails from the town of Lala, Lanao del Norte also serenaded the audience with his melodic love songs.

On the third day of the event, the Lanao del Norte provincial government treated guests and visitors to a sumptuous lunch of fresh seafoods, lechon, and sweet delicacies from this fast-rising province popularly known as the “Land of Beauty and Bounty”.

“We are happy with the positive responses we get from the people. They showed great interest in Lanao del Norte and many of them plan to visit our province for vacation or for a business trip”, Tourism Head Minda Regis revealed.

Also giving their support to this year’s Pasundayag are the municipal mayors of Lala and Baroy.  LOC/VNL/PIO-LDN
