“When Malacañang calls, Lanao del Norte follows”, declared Governor Khalid Dimaporo.

The expression of support came amidst harsh criticisms on the President’s performance after completing one year of his presidency on July 1, 2011.

In a recent Social Weather Station (SWS) survey, the president’s  satisfaction rating dropped from “very good” to “good” just a little over a week before his one-year anniversary in office.

“Although we are in the minority but we fully support President Noynoy Aquino because he is working doubly hard to improve the lives of the common people especially those living in the countryside”, Dimaporo amplified.

For their part, the municipal mayors also vent their approval on the president’s leadership and downplayed the dip in ratings stating that “effects of PNoy’s anti-poverty programs are now being felt around the province and it’s just a matter of time before his satisfaction rating will rise again”.

Lanao del Norte is now in the middle of a two-week celebration for their founding anniversary. Last June 23 to 26, the provincial government again hosted another international motocross with eight American Motocross Association (AMA) riders competing.

The province started to grab national attention by its successful hosting of PBA games, boxing events, mountain bike challenges and international motocross competitions.

“We can only reach our destination if we paddle together towards the same direction, and we are one with President Aquino in his vision to transform the Philippines as the next fast-emerging economy in Asia”, Dimaporo concluded. VNL/PIO-LDN
