Lanao del Norte remains peaceful – AFP, PNP
Tubod, Lanao del Norte – Despite the threat of armed groups and other lawless elements disturbing the peace and order of the province, Lanao del Norte still remains peaceful. This was the pronouncement made by officials of the AFP and PNP stationed in the area.The announcement was made during the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) meeting held at the Macapagal Training Center in Tubod, this province. The PPOC was convened by Gov. Khalid Dimaporo as part of the regular monitoring of the security situation of the province.
“The situation in the boundaries is generally peaceful…The peaceful atmosphere will attract investment and increase in job opportunities”, reported Col. Leo Cresente Ferrer.
For its part, the provincial PNP also reported on its activities directed against illegal drugs, illegal gambling, cattle rustling, illegal fishing, illegal logging, carnapping, kidnapping and robbery.
“The peace and order condition in the AOR was relatively stable during the period under review”, declared PNP Prov’l. Director Orlando Beñas.
A stable security situation in Lanao del Norte is one of the primary goals of Gov. Dimaporo for the speedy implementation of developmental programs in the province. VNL/PIO-LDN
