postheadericon Lanao del Norte set to host provincial lawmakers’ convention

Region 10 PBMLP Chairman Baldomero Zamora formally took his oath of office before DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo.Tubod, Lanao del Norte. – The Provincial Board Members League of the Philippines (PBMLP) Region 10 will be holding a 3-day Regional Conference from March 31 to April 2, 2011 at the Mindanao Civic Center Hotel, Tubod, this province. This was revealed by Regional Chairman Baldomero Zamora.



The scheduled conference has the theme “Proactive local legislation geared towards unity and cooperation for peace and development”. The event is aimed at promoting camaraderie among the lawmakers and providing them a venue for capability-building interventions that will ensure a more effective formulation and legislation of laws and policies for the continued peace and development of all provincial LGUs in northern Mindanao.



Board Member Alexander Ali, Secretary-General, explained that on day 1, there will be a Governor’s night after the opening rites set at 4:00 p.m. The next day will be plenary session to hear the annual reports of the regional president and regional treasurer. The organizations’s national president Henry Bacurnay, Jr. is also expected to give his message to the members.



Other activities include a discussion on insurance coverage and a tour to the different tourist spots such as the Ma. Cristina Falls, Tinago Falls, Agus IV underground hydro power plant and tunnel.



Expected guests to attend the convention are the national officers of PBMLP and board member-celebrities like Gary Ejercito, Angelica Jones and many others.



Governor Khalid Dimaporo has given his full-support to this annual convention of the regional lawmakers and urged the participants to continue to be dependable partners for peace and development in their provinces.



The PBMLP National Convention is scheduled on May 11-13, 2011 at Davao City. (Tsedeng)
