Former Governor Angging Quibranza-Dimaporo speaks to the thousands of barangay officials who attended the gathering at MCC gymnasium to show their support and loyalty to the Dimaporo candidates. Tubod, Lanao del Norte – To achieve the goals of Vision 2020 and to further strengthen the ties between Muslim and Christian residents, barangay officials here from 22 municipalities of the province converged at the Mindanao Civic Center last May 5 to express their support for the Dimaporo candidates running in the May 2010 polls.

Some 2,500 barangay officials from the chairman to the secretary of most of the 462 barangays in the rpovince were on hand to demonstrate their steadfast support to the leadership of the Dimaporo Team.

“It’s very heartwarming to see our local leaders appreciate the work that were doing here. People will not join this gathering if they do not believe that we care for Lanao del Norte and that we can deliver our commitments”, congressional candidate Imelda Quibranza-Dimaporo said.

In his speech, Gov. Khalid Dimaporo also reminded the baragay officials of the help former Defense Sec. Gilbert ‘Gibo’ Teodoro, Jr. personally extended to the province during the August 2008 attacks of the Lawless MILF Group (LMG).

“Gibo has been very instrumental in bringing back normalcy in Lanao del Norte. Let us show our appreciation by giving him a landslide victory here”, urged Gov. Dimaporo.

The gathering was also highlighted by raffle draws of mobile phones, flat irons, desk fans and Kawasaki CT-100 motorcycles.

“We have seen the Dimaporos work and it is no wonder why Lanao del Norte is what it is today because of their dedication in bringing development in this part of Mindanao thru the unity of Muslims and Christians”, expressed Brgy. Poblacion, Tubod Chairman Vicmar Aguilar. VNL/ARMS
