Lanao Norte capitol gets new GSIS kiosk
Tubod, Lanao del Norte - To give easier access for government employees to avail of the services of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), a new kiosk was turned-over to the provincial government last August 24 during a simple ceremony held at the lobby of Gov. Arsenio Quibranza Provincial Government Center, Tubod, this province.
Dubbed as GSIS Wireless Automated Processing System or G-W@PS for short, members can readily apply for loans, check membership status and loan accounts through the G-W@PS kiosk. Pensioners can also renew their active status through the kiosk.
Through this automated system, members can process their loan application without any documentary requirement.
“First, members can benefit through this system economically. They don’t have to spend much on transportation to process their loan applications. Second, they will be able to save time because of the proximity of the G-W@PS kiosk from their home or office”, GSIS Regional Manager Maria Luz Briones said.
The G-W@PS was developed in the GSIS and makes use of a combination of world-class technologies, such as radio frequency identification, biometrics, and virtual private network to come up with a secure system that can perform processing remotely in a paperless manner.
The G-W@PS kiosk resembles an automated teller machine (ATM) that has a touch screen monitor. But the GW@PS kiosk is not an ATM since it does not dispense money.
“This is really a big help to our employees, we are indeed thankful to GSIS Region 10 for providing us with their kiosk”, Provincial Administrator Joselito Quibranza expressed.
Presently, there are three GW@PS kiosks located in various strategic locations throughout the province.
Also attending the simple turn-over rites were Provincial Treasurer Mildred Gingco, and several provincial employees. VNL/PIO-LDN
