Lanao Norte hires more prison guards to tighten jail security
TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – The escape of many prisoners in prison cells nationwide recently prompted the government of this province to tighten the security of its jail by hiring additional jail guards.
Last August 27, the Personnel Selection Board (PSB) through its panel board officers interviewed the 68 applicants who took the examinations earlier if they could qualify to the jobs.
“There is a need for the provincial government of Lanao del Norte to hire more jail guards so as to contain the number of inmates inside the provincial jail,” said Perlito Gementiza, acting provincial warden.
Out of the 68 applicants, only eight guards are to be hired in addition to other jail guards to prevent lapses in securing the jails and to standardize the laws and policies about jail administration and management.
The security of the provincial jail is one of the priorities by the administration of Lanao del Norte Gov. Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo.
Gov. Dimaporo sees to it that justice must be served by the inmates of their wrong doings against their victims or the laws of the land inside the cell. The law breakers should have to pay their misdeeds to the last day of their term in the prison jail.
Eugene Pusing, in charge of processing the applicants, said that there is a due process in applying for the job at the provincial government to assist the provincial governor of hiring applicants.
“Preferably the applicants should come from Lanao del Norte to help address the high rate of unemployment in the province,” he added.
