TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – To foster innovation for local taxation, iTAX or Integrated Taxation Management System regional conference 2010 was held at Mindanao Civic Center (MCC) Hotel, Tubod, Lanao del Norte on August 5 with some six (6) Local Government Units (LGUs) from Zamboanga City, Zamboanga de Sur, Pagadian City, Oroqueta City, Dumaguete City and Tudela City attending the said conference to share  insights and experiences in the implementation of iTAX in their respective provinces and cities, thus, to keep them updated with the latest information and services the system can offers.

For the additional ideas about the iTAX, the conference was highlighted with the discussion of the following topics; history of iTAX, iTAX overview, Integrated Taxation Management System (Revenue Generation for Local Government) and iTAX GIS.
Juergen Seelman, (from Germany) GTZ-iTAX Team Leader, gave invigorating inputs on the benefits of the system, iTAX history, procedures to implement the program and sustainability plan that will give  better understanding on the advancement of the application in the software technology in shaping the future with ease and stability.
The software serves as a technical assistant which provides services according to local ordinances. It is a comprehensive package that comes with the regular processes such as receiving of payments, generating receipts, reports, as well as keeping track of delinquencies with just a click of a button.

Gov. Khalid Dimaporo said, “Tax collection is one of the weak assets of the province and I went through in finding a tax system that is very transparent with no politics involved and focus on the service for the people. A system that can standardized the taxation in Lanao del Norte.”

The province has been successfully deployed the GTZ-iTAX program last July 2010 to the different participating LGUs in Lanao del Norte and gradually changed the taxation system in the area.
The provincial government is very much thankful for the assistance provided by the GTZ-iTAX central office at Dumaguete City with the leadership of Juergen Seelman. ARMS/PIO-LDN
