Lanao Norte residents give P-Noy high marks for 1st 100 days
Tubod, Lanao del Norte – After his first 100 days in office, residents of this province gave President Benigno Simeon Aquino III high marks on his performance as the 15th President of the Republic.
“Despite the Manila Hostage Crisis and his cabinet officials being linked to some controversies, we can still see that President Noynoy is doing his best to guide the nation towards a better economy”, said Brgy. San Juan Chairman Adelaido Laranjo, Jr.
The report of the President on his first 100 days has received mixed reactions from different sectors of society but people in Lanao del Norte remain optimistic of their future with President Aquino at the helm.
“We are optimistic of this current administration, his decision to continue the pro-poor programs of the previous administration like the conditional cash transfer shows his deep concern for the underprivileged”, Linamon resident Ana Riza Sabaduquia expressed.
The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) is a poverty reduction and social development program that provides conditional cash grants to as much as P1,400 to poor households to improve their health, nutrition and education particularly children aged 0-14 years old.
Lanao del Norte is one of the 45 provinces that benefit from 4Ps and recently 11 of its towns in the 1st district have been included in the 4Ps expansion as it targets one million beneficiary families.
“If I were to give President Aquino a grade it will be A++. This is because of the superb transition job he has done from the previous administration to his administration. Another is the national support that Lanao del Norte continues to receive especially the poverty alleviation programs”, Governor Khalid Dimaporo said.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has identified at least 27 barangays in Lanao del Norte as beneficiaries of another poverty alleviation program by the government, the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan- Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services or KALAHI-CIDSS.
“I am sure that he (President Aquino) will have a significant impact versus poverty in our province. We’re very happy with his performance”, Dimaporo added. VNL/PIO-LDN
