The province of Lanao del Norte will make PBA history as it hosts the first-ever PBA Finals Game here in the island of Mindanao this coming August 10, 2011.Tubod, Lanao del Norte – After successfully hosting another PBA road game last June 18, Lanao del Norte is again gearing up for a historic game in its colossal Mindanao Civic Center gymnasium for the highly anticipated Game 3 of the PBA Governor’s Cup Finals on August 10, 2011.
This will be the first time in PBA history that a Finals game will be held in the southern island of Mindanao.
“The repeated hosting of PBA games here in Lanao del Norte proves that Mindanao Civic Center (MCC) is truly the home of the PBA here in Mindanao”, Information Officer Lyndon Calica said.
The PBA Governor’s Cup is now entering the final stages of its elimination round before announcing the Final Four teams to compete for the coveted Finals slot.
Last conference’s champion Talk N Text Tropang Texters is currently leading the team standings with a 6-2 card. Tied for second place are Petron Blaze Boosters and Alaska Aces both showing a 5-3 win-loss record.
“So far the Mindanao Civic Center has the best facility to accommodate the games of the PBA outside of Metro Manila. We can definitely say that Lanao del Norte is the home of the PBA here in Mindanao” PBA media bureau chief Willie Marcial said in an earlier interview.
Game 3 is considered by game analysts as a pivotal game that can potentially change the momentum of a team’s performance. Winning Game 3 is therefore crucial for every Final’s team plan to clinch the Governor’s Cup championship.
Early this month, the fast-rising province of Lanao del Norte also hosted another international motocross competition which was attended by top riders of the American Motocross Association (AMA). VNL/PIO-LDN
