Tubod, Lanao del Norte – Sanggunian Panlalawigan Secretary Joselito Quibranza was recently elected as the Regional Head of the Philippine League of Secretaries to the Sanggunian, Inc. (PLEASES, Inc.) during their annual meeting held last April 28, 2011 at Haus Malibu, Malaybalay, Bukidnon.


Quibranza who is also the concurrent acting-provincial administrator of Lanao del Norte was the unanimous choice of his peers for the regional presidency. He is scheduled to start his two-year term on January 2012.


“I would like to thank all those who supported my bid for the position. What made me decide to run is my desire to help promote Lanao del Norte not only among our neighbors in northern Mindanao but hopefully throughout the country”, Quibranza expressed.


The PLEASES, Inc. is a nationwide organization of local legislative secretaries that seek to strengthen the policy making processes and update its members of newly enacted state laws and national policies.    


Quibranza plans to identify the best practices of each LGU and promote these programs for replication in the other cities and provinces of region 10.


“In partnership also with Board member (Baldomero) Zamora, we hope to make a significant impact in northern Mindanao to demonstrate to everyone that Lanao del Norte is earnestly doing its part in promoting the region”, Quibranza added.


Lanao del Norte board member Baldomero Zamora is also the regional chairman of the Provincial Board Members League of the Philippines (PBMLP) for northern Mindanao.


The PBMLP recently held its regional conference here at the Mindanao Civic Center (MCC) Hotel in the capital town of Tubod last March 31.


PLEASES Region 10 also plans to hold its regional convention at the sprawling MCC complex in the early part of year 2012. VNL/PIO-LDN
