LANORPA undergoes License-To-Operate Orientation
Tubod, Lanao del Norte – Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD) recently conducted a License To Operate (LTO) orientation to members of the Lanao del Norte Food Processors Association (LANORPA), a Provincial Cooperative Office and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) assisted food processor organization. The orientation was held at the Mindanao Training Center, Pigcarangan, Tubod, this province.
Ms. Ruthelma C. Olmoguez, Food and Drug Regulation Officer II was the facilitator of said activity. Its objectives are to discuss and explain the requirements for LTO permit, come up with a draft lay-out BFAD prescribe processing center and schedule site visit for inspection and validation.
Initially PCO in coordination with DTI held a product development and enhancement training for rural based organizations in Lanao del Norte. This paved way to the establishment of LANORPA.
Any business planning to engage in the importation, exportation, distribution, manufacture and re-packing of products regulated by BFAD, must have a License To Operate (LTO) prior to the start of its operations.
LANORPA as an organization of food processors adheres to the processes required by BFAD for the safety of consumers and is requiring its members to obtain a license to operateissued by BFAD.
This program is in line with the provincial government’s effort in extending assistance to the livelihood organizations existing in Lanao del Norte. ARMS/PIO-LDN
