Tubod, Lanao del Norte – The sprawling Mindanao Civic Center (MCC) complex in the capitol town was flooded with people wearing green t-shirts, hats and bandanas all chanting “Gibo” as the helicopter carrying the Lakas-Kampi-CMD presidentiable landed in the MCC open field last April 10 (Saturday).

The massive show of support is proof that Lanao del Norte is indeed a stronghold of the ruling Lakas-Kampi-CMD.

An estimated ten thousand people came to personally see and express their support to Gilbert ‘Gibo’ Teodoro who is placing 4th in poll surveys. “Sa kanila na ang surveys, sa akin na ang eleksyon”, reacted Gibo to the cheers of his loyal local supporters.

Gibo Teodoro is the first presidential candidate to make a campaign stop here in Lanao del Norte.

““What I want is a president that we can depend on and will help us in our time of need. And Gibo has proven to be that kind of a leader especially when we need help the most last August 2008”, expressed Gov. Khalid Dimaporo.

Since the start of the local campaign period, the Dimaporos here have been aggressively campaigning for their party’s standard bearer.

In the season of shifting party loyalty, the Lakas-Kampi-CMD (Lanao del Norte chapter) remains steadfast to its official line-up of national candidates.

Officers of the Association of Barangay Captains and the Provincial Federated ABC also handed Gilbert Teodoro their manifesto of support and express their firm commitment to deliver majority votes for the party’s presidential bet.

“We want to send a strong message that we are not affected by any negative media reports and that we remain committed to deliver a landslide victory for Lakas-Kampi-CMD here in Lanao del Norte”, Gov. Dimaporo said.

Representative Abdullah Dimaporo of the 2nd District of Lanao del Norte also cited several reasons why the victory of Gibo Teodoro will prove beneficial to the province and the people of Lanao del Norte.
