Gov. Khalid Dimaporo is thankful to President Noynoy Aquino for giving importance to healthcare and for mandating the universal coverage of PhilHealth . Many residents of Lanao del Norte are also beneficiaries of the Provincial Health Indigency Program (PHIP) of Gov. Dimaporo.Tubod, Lanao del Norte – Obeying the directive of President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III for the implementation of a universal health care program, PhilHealth-Iligan started the distribution of the P-Noy Philhealth cards to indigent members in Lanao del Norte.

The distribution was held on the morning of October 2 at Mindanao Civic Center (MCC) gymnasium after a provincial motorcade. The PhilHealth motorcade started from Iligan City to Tubod, Lanao del Norte then back to Iligan in the afternoon.

The promotional activity aims to increase awareness among the residents of Iligan City and Lanao del Norte on the importance of becoming a PhilHealth member that will ensure access to quality health services to the member and his/her dependents.

“We would like to invite all PhilHealth members and non-members to out and visit our desks and be involved in this campaign to help realize the call of our President for universal coverage of PhilHealth”, urged Chief Social Insurance Officer Christine Mae Magno.

Members from towns of Linamon, Kauswagan, Bacolod, Maigo, Kolambugan, Tubod, Baroy, Kapatagan, Salvador, Pantar, Balo-i, Tangkal, Matungao, Pantao Ragat, Nunungan and Sultan Naga Dimaporo were able to receive their P-Noy Philhealth cards at MCC.

“We’re very thankful to President Noynoy Aquino for giving a huge importance to healthcare. Many of our people are the fortunate recipients of quality health services because of their Philhealth cards.

Present to show their support to the national registration day for PhilHealth by non-members which is also held on the same day are Lanao del Norte 1st District Representative Imelda Quibranza-Dimaporo, Board member Grecille Matalines, Board member Alexander Ali, and Board member Mohammad Moamar Jack Maruhom.

The Aquino administration is targeting to enroll within 3 years the identified 800 thousand poor families that are still not covered by PhilHealth. VNL/PIO-LDN
