PCL – LANAO DEL NORTE CHAPTER HOLDS MINI-OLYMPIC
Tubod, Lanao del Norte- Members of the Philippine Councilors’ League (PCL) – Lanao del Norte Chapter yesterday opened the 2nd Mini-Olympic and Provincial Congress at the Provncial Capitol grounds.
Highlighting the festivities is a parade around the provincial capitol area led by the drum & bugle band from Christ the King High School of Maranding, Lala.
Representatives from 21 municipalities of the province came to celebrate their annual get together and sportsfest organized by the local chapter headed by its President Nestor Cantallejo.
Municipal lawmakers will see action in three major ball games like: basketball, volleyball and lawn tennis. These sporting activities will test the stamina and strength of the legislators as they represent their specific clusters in the 3-day event.
Vice-Governor Irma Ali, lead the ceremonial toss to symbolize the opening of the 2nd PCL Mini-Olympic. According to Vice-Governor Ali,” the activity is directed at strengthening the bond between the local legislators as well as promote wellness among the PCL members”.
The three-day event will culminate on March 18 at the MCC Swimming Pool area for the awarding of prizes, giving of posthumous awards and certificates of recognition. ARMS-PIO/LDN
