Provincial employees undergo Voter’s Education
Tubod, Lanao del Norte – With only a few days left before election day, employees of the Provincial Government of this province underwent a Voter’s Education seminar last May 6 at the Mindanao Civic Center gymnasium.
The seminar was jointly organized by the local COMELEC and the provincial government to provide employees with basic information on how to vote in the first-ever automated election.
“As public servants, it is imperative that we have adequate knowledge on the new voting process so we can help disseminate this information and assist those who are still not familiar with the automated election”, HRMO Eugenie Pusing said.
The speakers reminded the employees of the sanctity and importance of their votes and the extra steps voters should take to ensure that their votes are counted.
A simple tear or even a slight crumple in the ballot are some of the common reasons why ballots are rejected by the PCOS machine.
Unfortunately, each voter is only allowed to receive one ballot and will not get an extra ballot as replacement under any circumstances.
“We are glad that we were given this seminar, we have learned a lot from the speakers on how to protect our votes”, said Marlon Lucot of the Provl. Administrator’s Office. VNL/PIO
