Tubod, Lanao del Norte – To efficiently manage the provincial hospitals of Lanao del Norte, the Provincial LGU has set out to implement a fully integrated hospital information management system.


The Vertex Integrated Hospital Information Management System (VIHIMS) is created by Vertex Business Applications, Inc., a software company based in Cebu City, will generate a summarized data on the general operations of each of the hospitals that will provide the provincial leadership with the necessary information to make decisions that can further improve its healthcare services.


After six months of actual on-the-job training by a transition team from Vertex, 37 employees of Kapatagan Provincial Hospital finally received their graduation certificate from Engr. Mark Gesalem (Vertex General Manager) and Provincial Governor Khalid Dimaporo.


“The difference is like day and night. Now all the information that we need is just one click away”, testified Chief of Hospital Dr. Medel Tomada.


Prior to Kapatagan Hospital, 2 provincial hospitals have already undergone the system’s training and have also successfully produced graduates; these are Kolambugan Provincial Hospital and Lanao del Norte Provincial Hospital.


Next to be trained by system implementers from Vertex will be the provincial hospitals in Sultan Naga Dimaporo and Kauswagan.
