Tubod barangays receive assistance from Rep. Imelda Dimaporo
Tubod, Lanao del Norte – In celebration of the 65th Araw ng Tubod and on its 25th Sagingan Festival, 1st District Congresswoman Imelda Quibranza-Dimaporo distributed financial assistance to the 24 barangays of this capital town on October 12, 2011.
The assistance amounting to Ten Thousand pesos was received by the respective barangay captains and will be used to defray expenses during the festivities of Tubod’s charter day anniversary.
“This money will go to the construction of our barangay’s booth. This is a tremendous help to all the barangays and should be more than enough to cover our expenses for labor and materials. We are proud to say that Congresswoman Angging Dimaporo is from Tubod”, expressed Bulod Brgy. Captain Omera Vergeire.
The Quibranza clan has always been a dominant political force in the province. But the celebrated union between the Quibranza and the Dimaporo families ultimately resulted in the unification of Muslim and Christian residents in Lanao del Norte.
This year’s sapphire anniversary celebration on October 17 is envisioned by the municipal officials to be the grandest ever.
The 20-day festivities will include a dance competition, a youth day, free clinic, mass feeding, free concert and the highly-anticipated Miss Tubod beauty pageant.
“For this year’s celebration, we want to showcase the best that Tubod has to offer, from our sweet-tasting bananas to our talented and skilled townsfolk”, Mayor Nelieta Noval said. LAR & VNL/PIO-LDN
