Tubod, Lanao del Norte – More than five thousand people witnessed the crowning of 19-year old Angel Lou Pates as the 2011 Ms. Lanao del Norte.

Pates bested 16 other candidates from different towns in the province during the jam-packed coronation night last July 2 at the Mindanao Civic Center gymnasium.

She also won best in festival attire and was one of the early favorites to bag the prestigious crown.

As Ms. Lanao del Norte 2011, Pates was declared Ms. Dunkin’ Donuts, Ms. AIMCoop, Ms. FM Fragrance, Ms. Nature’s Spring and as ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya Star of the Night.

Another frontrunner in the annual pageant was 16-year old Imelynn Bombeo of Kapatagan. Bombeo was adjudged as Best in Swimwear, Best in Enchanted Costume, Best in Production Number, and Darling of the Press. She was also declared as first-runner in the beauty competition.

This year’s pageant winner will represent Lanao del Norte in the Search for Sinulog Festival Queen in Cebu City next year. The provincial government has been participating in the Sinulog Festival for three years straight now and has consistently won in the Free Interpretation category.

The other winners in the pageant were Leslie Gaborno  (Matungao) as second-runner up, Michelle Ann  Jancilan (Baroy) as third-runner up, and Joriesa Tañan (Lala) as fourth-runner up.

Other minor award winners were Rea Tessa Hillary R. Lacida (Best in Cocktail Attire, Miss Photogenic), Charlynn Jarantilla (Best in Malong- Landap Creation), and Tiffany Alexandra B. Pinili (Miss Congeniality).
